The Science behind Koji’s Quest
Through our neuroscience-backed game Koji’s Quest, NeuroReality helps individuals rehabilitate after brain injury and to train cognitive skills.
Koji’s Quest aims to utilize three important neurophysiological abilities of the brain: its neuroplasticity, mirror neuron system, and reward system.
With goal- and task-based training, we stimulate cortical reorganization (rewiring) by repeated activation of affected brain regions.
Likewise, showing patients how another agent, (Koji) performs a task can elicit mirroring behavior. By simply watching Koji’s movements, actions and decisions, patients can slowly learn to use affected cognitive functions again.
